Synopsis
The story begins with middle schooler Takao Kasuga getting an F on a math test. He doesn’t seem to care, though, as he’s too busy secretly reading “The Flowers of Evil” by Baudelaire. Things go from bad to worse when Takao accidentally steals Nanako Saeki’s gym clothes, who he has a big crush on. Worse still, Nakamura, a girl with a big grudge and a mean streak, sees everything.
As events unravel, we see Takao trying to figure out if he should own up to his mistake or hide it. At the same time, he’s trying to win over Nanako and deal with Nakamura’s attempts to blackmail him.
This story is smart, funny, and relatable, featuring a character who’s not perfect but seeks genuine love and friendship.
