In this world, alchemists study and practice the art of changing matter, known as alchemical transmutation. They follow the Law of Equivalent Exchange, which means you get something only by giving something of equal value.

One time, a failed alchemical ritual caused Edward Elric to lose his arms and legs, while his brother Alphonse became just a soul inside an armor suit. With mechanical limbs, Edward became a state alchemist, determined to find one item that can restore their bodies – the mythical Philosopher’s Stone.
